Instruction for "Maxair" Linear Piston Air Pumps 1) Installation Always install the pump in a well ventilated location. Avoid operation in a high temperature location. If installing pump in an enclosure insure that the pump is well ventilated. If temperature inside enclosure exceeds 105 Fahrenheit, always install an auxiliary cooling fan. The Maxair pump is designed for indoor use only. Never install in a wet location. Keep the pump clean and free from dust accumulation. Install pump with rubber feet base down. Install the pump above the water level whenever connected to nozzles under the water. Always install airline check valves. 2) Regular Use Always operate the pump at 120 Volts and 60 Hertz. All pumps are designed for air only. Never use with liquids or corrosive or explosive gases! Moisture from humid air may condense in the pumps and caused corrosion. A water trap is recommended in those applications. 3) Maintenance Never lubricate, these pumps are oil-less pumps, oil will cause internal damage to the pump. Never operate the pump with a dirty intake filter. Dirt in the pump will cause premature failure. Clean the element as follows: A) disconnect pump from the electrical supply B) unscrew air cleaner cover and remove filter C) lightly tap dust off of filter or if it is extremely dusty, element may be washed with detergent and rinse with clean water. D)Always allow filter element to air dry before reinstalled. If the air flow is not restored by cleaning the filter, replacement of filter may be necessary. 4) Miscellaneous The bodies, field cores and rear covers on all compressors are precisely assembled during manufacture. Never attempt to disassemble them, this will cause the piston and cylinder to become misaligned which will result in premature failure and voiding of warranty.
