Operating Principle:
     The "Ultra-V" Ultra Violet Sterilizers are excellent choices for Freshwater, Saltwater and
Pond applications. These units are water tight and utilize hard quartz sleeves for peak
performance. The design also allows for UV Bulb replacement without the need to remove the
unit from it's installed position. 
     Allowing for a maximum flow rates up to 100 GPH, these units are designed to be used
with your favorite water pumps. 
     Based on a 70,000 æW sec/cm2 (microwatt seconds per square centimeter) the flowrates
are as follows:

16 Watt UV Unit
430 gph

40 Watt UV Unit
1000 gph

60 Watt UV Unit
1500 gph

     By changing the flow rate through the UV unit you will change the effective "kill power"  of
the UV unit.

     For example: If you only allow 215 gph thru the 16 watt unit, you will effectively
increase the kill power to 140,000 æW sec/cm2 (microwatt seconds per square centimeter). And
also the opposite, by increasing the flow rate you will lower the "kill power". We have included a
chart to help you calculate your flow rate depending on the "kill power" needed for the
corresponding Micro-Organisms.

     The "Ultra-V" is made in the USA and has a 1 year warranty on the Unit and Ballast, and
30 days on the UV Bulb and Quartz Sleeve.

Basic Installation:
1. Open UV Unit by unscrewing endcap. (End with cord coming out of it)
2. Slide UV bulb into Quartz sleeve.
3. Connect UV Bulb Plug from Inside the Endcap to UV Bulb
4. Install endcap back onto UV Unit, be sure O-ring is positioned correctly.
5. Install appropriate fittings into threaded sockets on UV Unit.
6. Install hosing from pump to the UV Unit, and from UV unit to return water.
7. Install clamps on all hosing.
8. Mount UV Unit in desired location.
9. Plug UV Unit in GFCI grounded receptacle.
10. Turn on water pump with desired flow rate determined from above chart.
11. Check for any leaks. Tighten clamps if necessary.
12. If UV Bulb replacement is needed. Follow steps 1-4.
13. For Quartz sleeve cleaning or replacement follow steps 1-4, then
     Unscrew plastic retaining ring around quartz sleeve. Remove rubber Grommet. Slide    
     Quartz sleeve out of unit. Clean or replace sleeve and reinstall in reverse order.
