The Tank Boss AFS What’s Included: 1) ‘The Tank Boss AFS’ Main Unit (1) 2) 5 Foot power cord (1) 3) Long stem reversible float switch with 36” cabling (1 or 2) 4) 10 Amp replacement fuse (1) 5) Suction cup mount (1 or 2) 6) Operating Instructions OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS ‘The Tank Boss AFS will handle a maximum load of 10 amps, and can operate in a low water and/or high water application. It can also be used as an A.T.O. (Auto Top Off) if combined with a timer. When used as a Single Sensor Float Switch: 1. Plug the power cord into ‘The Tank Boss AFS’ Main Unit then into a G.F.C.I. Outlet. Next, plug your powerhead or water pump into the female connector on the main unit. 2. ‘The Tank Boss AFS’ float switches come factory ready for low water application. If you will be using the float switch for a high water application, remove the plastic retaining clip on the end of the shaft, then remove the barrel float, turn the barrel float upside down and reinstall the barrel and clip, the float switch is now ready for high water usage. 3. Attach this float sensor to The Tank Boss AFS. You can plug it into either connector on the main unit. Leave the other connection empty. 4. Mount the float switch into your sump, protein skimmer or aquarium utilizing the included suction cup assembly. Be sure not to allow the wires that come out of the top of the shaft or any of the electrical wires or the black junction box to be submerged in the water. These parts are not water safe. 5. The float assembly can be raised or lowered to achieve the desired turn on or turn off point. Simply slide float body up or down without moving the suction cup. 6. Mount ‘The Tank Boss AFS’ Main Unit above water level where it is not possible to fall into the water. Your float switch is now operational. However, fine-tuning may be necessary. Repeating step #5 until the desired operation is achieved. When used as a Dual Sensor Float Switch: 1. 3. Attach the low-level float sensor to The Tank Boss AFS. You can plug it into either connector on the main unit. 4. Attach the high-level float sensor to The Tank Boss AFS. Plug it into the other connector on the main unit. Mount the float switches into your sump, protein skimmer or aquarium utilizing the included suction cup assembly. Be sure not to allow the wires that come out of the top of the shaft or any of the electrical cables or the black junction box to be submerged in the water. These parts are not waters safe. 5. The float assemblies can be raised or lowered to achieve the desired turn on or turn off point. Merely slide float body up or down without moving the suction cup. 6. Mount ‘The Tank Boss AFS’ Main Unit above water level where it is not possible to fall into the water. Your float switches are now operational. However, fine-tuning may be necessary. Repeating step #5 until the desired operation is achieved can do this. When used as an ATO: 1. 3. Attach the low-level float sensor to The Tank Boss AFS. You can plug it into either connector on the central unit. 4. Attach the high-level float sensor to The Tank Boss AFS. Plug it into the other connector on the central unit. Mount the float switches into your sump, protein skimmer or aquarium utilizing the included suction cup assembly. Be sure not to allow the wires that come out of the top of the shaft or any of the electrical cables or the black junction box to be submerged in the water. These parts are not water safe. If the float switch is being used fo as an ATO, it is best to use in conjunction with a timer. Set the timer to turn on 1or 2 times per day for a few minutes (enough time to make the top-off and the float switch deactivate). This will prevent accidental overflows and protect the longevity of the float switch
